This exhibition of vibrant paintings sees Latchford and Breatnagh exhibit together for the first time. Breatnagh, working with both traditional and non-traditional materials explores the natural environment. Latchford’s work, predominately figurative, explores the idea of place in relation to identity and memory. The practice of both artists are concerned with the painterly aspects of colour, shape, and light, and their lush painting surfaces of bold brush strokes and intuitive mark-making contest to this. Each sees their role as that of the visual storyteller, and their artworks, rich in colour and economical in detail, act as catalysts for the viewer to delve into their own memory banks.
Both artists’ practices are informed by a keen interest in photography. Latchford uses her treasure trove of new and old family photographs as source material. Breatnagh, in addition, takes inspiration from poetry and borrows elements from collage, resulting in paintings that have a sculptural element.

A group exhibition comprising: ceramics by Jaejun Lee (Korean potter living in Cardiff) Petra Bittl (Germany) Gráinne Watts and Andrew Ludick (Ireland) stained glass by Peter Young. Work in silver by Cara Murphy and in wood by Alan Meredith. Jewellery by Inga Reed as well as tapestries by Terry Dunne.
